Frequently asked questions
Q. How does Reiki work?
A. We are alive because life force energy is flowing through us. Life force energy flows within the physical body though pathways called chakras, meridians and nadis. It also flows around us in a field of energy, called the biomagnetic field (or aura). Life force nourishes the organs and cells of the body, supporting them in their vital functions. When this flow of life force is disrupted, it causes diminished function in one or more of the organs and tissues of the physical body. Reiki heals by flowing through the affected parts of the energy field and charging them. Reiki clears, straightens and heals the energy pathways, thus allowing the life force to flow in a healthy and natural way.
Q. What can be treated with Reiki?
A. Reiki has had a positive effect on different forms of illness and negative conditions. This includes minor things like head or stomach aches, bee stings, colds, flu, tension and anxiety as well as more serious illness, such as heart disease, cancer, leukemia, etc. The side effects of regular medical treatments have also been reduced or eliminated. In some cases people have experienced complete healings which have been confirmed by medical tests before and after the Reiki treatments. Stress reduction with some improvement in one’s physical and psychological condition are what most experience.
Although I can’t provide guarantees, I can tell you if you don’t feel you’ve received any benefit after your first Reiki treatment, then I will not charge you for the session. My only goal is for you to have a lovely, positive experience. Please just keep in mind, if you are dealing with something that’s been a struggle for you for a while, it may require more than one session to be truly impactful. I’ve begun offering a bundled 4-session price at a per session cost reduction.
Q. Who can be treated with Reiki? Is it safe for pregnant women and babies?
A. Anyone can be treated with Reiki, including your pets and your plants. The Reiki energy will know the condition of the client and adjust appropriately.
Q. Does one have to stop seeing a regular doctor or psychologist in order to receive a Reiki treatment?
A. No. Reiki works in conjunction with regular medical or psychological treatment. If one has a medical or psychological condition, it is recommended that one see a licensed health care professional in addition to receiving Reiki treatments. Reiki energy works in harmony with all other forms of healing, including drugs, surgery, psychological care or any other method of alternative care.
Q. Am I, as a practitioner, doing the healing?
A. No. I received attunements through my educational process that qualify me to administer Reiki treatments, but this energy used is channeled directly from source. My energy is not used.
Q. Is Reiki a Religion? Would I be going against my Christian beliefs if I receive or practice Reiki?
Reiki is not a religion and is practiced by people of all religious persuasions. It is spiritual for me in that I ask for angels, guides, ascended masters to assist during the sessions, but you don’t have to believe anything at all to be a candidate for receiving Reiki treatments. However, if you are Christian and concerned about it going against your beliefs, I refer to you please visit: www.christianreiki.org.
